Transport Planner – Domestic (Vans & Rigid Trucks)

Role Overview
Impulse Recruitment are recruiting for a Domestic Transport Planner to join a busy logistics operation based in Kildare. This role focuses on planning and coordinating van and rigid truck routes across Ireland, ensuring efficient delivery schedules and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule and coordinate daily routes for vans and rigid trucks across Ireland • Monitor live deliveries and adjust plans proactively when issues arise • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and internal teams • Ensure all collections and deliveries meet agreed timelines and SLAs • Manage day‑to‑day transport administration and documentation • Support operational efficiency and resolve transport‑related issues • Maintain accurate records on transport management systems • Ensure compliance with company procedures and transport regulations
Requirements
• Previous experience in transport planning (domestic preferred) • Strong knowledge of Irish road networks and delivery routes • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle pressure • Excellent communication and organisational skills • Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems • Proven problem‑solving ability and attention to detail • Experience planning for vans/rigids is a strong advantage
