Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for a large company based in Ashbourne Co Meath
This is a Full Time Permanent position and a great opportunity to join a large and busy growing transport and logistics team at a new office
This role will require a professional individual who is highly organized, with great attention to detail and has experience of working in the logistics & warehousing sector.
Duties:
• Plan relevant transport and manage linehauls for Ireland/UK and European operations.
• Planning and scheduling daily orders for drivers and their routes ensuring that delivery requests are met for all customers.
• Organise customs clearance paperwork and commodity codes.
• Communicating with warehouse to ensure orders are despatched on time.
• Monitor all routes, ensuring they are running on time and escalating any issues immediately to management.
• Liaise and communicate with customers and quickly identify issues that may affect the agreed delivery time and provide solutions were possible.
• Maintain files and records and provide quick accurate information when required.
• Work to a high standard and take responsibility for delivering all expected tasks.
• Show initiative, act with confidence, and show ability to work under own direction.
• Ensure good relations and communications with all members of the company and provide excellent customer care in an efficient manner.
• Continue to identify ways in which further improvements to performance and service delivery can be made to our customers. Minimum Requirements:
• Experience in Transport planning essential.
• Knowledge of driver hours/tachos regulations.
• Geographical knowledge of Ireland, UK and main land Europe.
• Knowledge of transport legislation. • Good time keeping and ability to work in a structured manner.
• Problem solving ability and attention to detail essential.
• Flexible attitude to working hours to support the needs of the business.
Good literacy and numeracy skills with knowledge of MS Office Suites. Terms:
• Permanent Role
• Hours of work 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday – flexibility required during peak times
• Salary negotiable DOE
• 20 days annual leave
