Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager for a large company based in Dublin 24
The ideal candidate will have Transport Management experience and must have a passion for the Transport and Logistics industry.
Duties will include
- Manage and oversee Transport Logistics Office and Planning staff with a goal to deliver quick and efficient turnaround and encourage excellent productivity
- Work with and coach staff to working to hight standards by taking a ‘hands on’ approach
- Manage and motivate staff in a team environment
- Develop and improve the team through coach and personal development
- Identify and arrange staff training needs as required
- Manage transport administration staff
- Oversee and ensure queries, complaints are addressed in a timely manner with company’s drive for continuous improvement in mind
- Manage resource planning for Transport Logistics- annual leave and sick leave and coordinate cover
- Ensuring processes, systems, work practices and specific customer service levels are met
- Ensure sub-contractor SLA’s are in place
- Actively monitor contractor standards and behaviours
- Ensure compliance with safe working/operating practices and all legislation governing the safe operation of the Transport Logistics staff, office, drivers and vehicles
- Adhere to the QEHS system and processes, help its continuous development and improvement and ensure staff adhere to its policies and procedures
- Ensure Good Distribution Practices (GDP) are maintained at all times
- Identify procurement needs that are required to ensure business activity runs smoothly
The Candidate:
- Third level relevant qualification
- Very strong experience managing a team
- A proven management role in logistics / supply chain (Transport Distribution ideal – not essential)
- A well-balanced performance management approach with flexibility
- Operations background and advantage
- IT literate, knowledge of computerised and manual planning systems
- Excellent communication and planning skills
- Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and European countries
- Knowledge of statutory transport regulations/legislation an advantage
- CPC (Transport Manager) qualified a plus
