Senior Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Warehouse & Logistics Manager for a large company based in D 12

The ideal candidate will have precious experience working as a Logistics & Warehouse manager

The Role

Reporting directly to a Company Director, the successful candidate will have overall

responsibility for the efficient running of the warehouse and logistics function. They will

ensure that goods are received, stored, picked and dispatched safely, accurately and on

time, while maintaining effective stock controls and a dependable service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse operations and stock control
  • Manage all daily warehouse activity, including goods-in, put-away, replenishment, picking,
  • packing and dispatch. Maintain accurate stock records and effective controls around
  • rotation, traceability, cycle counts, returns, damages and short shelf-life products, ensuring
  • that discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Logistics and distribution
  • Coordinate company vehicles, third-party carriers and external storage providers to ensure
  • reliable and cost-effective deliveries. Review transport schedules, route efficiency, service
  • levels and carrier performance, addressing recurring delays or service issues and ensuring
  • that all external stock movements are accurately recorded.
  • People management
  • Lead, organise and develop the warehouse and logistics team through clear expectations
  • and visible day-to-day management. The role includes workforce planning, rosters, holiday
  • cover, overtime control, recruitment, induction and training, together with the fair and
  • consistent management of attendance, conduct and performance.
  • Reporting and business performance
  • The successful candidate must be able to analysis operational data and report on the
  • financial performance within the department. This will include preparing concise operational
  • reports for the board of directors, covering areas such as service levels, picking accuracy,
  • productivity, labour and overtime, logistics cost, stock accuracy, waste, returns and
  • warehouse capacity.
  • Health, safety and quality
  • Ensure that the warehouse operates in line with company health and safety, food safety,
  • hygiene, quality and traceability requirements. Working closely with the Quality team, the
  • manager will maintain required records, respond to audit findings and ensure that
  • warehouse equipment and vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Continuous improvement and communication
  • Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales, Finance, HR and IT to resolve
  • operational issues and plan for changing business needs. The manager will be expected to
  • identify practical improvements in warehouse layout, systems, labour use, picking, transport
  • and stock control and follow these through to completion.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience and qualifications
  • Candidates should have strong experience managing a busy warehouse and logistics
  • operation, with direct responsibility for people, stock, transport and service delivery.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, chilled distribution or FMCG is strongly preferred. A
  • relevant third-level qualification or recognised professional certification in supply chain
  • management, logistics, warehousing or a related discipline is required.
  • Leadership and technical capability
  • The successful candidate will be a confident and equitable manager with strong
  • organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear written reporting is essential,
  • together with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, warehouse management systems and ERP
  • software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. They must be comfortable
  • managing competing priorities and communicating effectively with employees, senior
  • management and external partners.
  • Remuneration
  • Salary is €60,000–€70,000, depending on experience, together with an additional
  • KPI-based payment of €6,000–€8,000.
