Senior Book Keeper

Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Bookkeeper to oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations of several companies within a growing group.

Based in Dublin, this is a full‑time permanent position offering exposure across Ireland, the UK, France, and multiple business units.

This evolving role provides a unique blend of hands‑on accounting, financial reporting oversight, and systems/process improvement ideal for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully while also growing as the finance function continues to scale.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Senior Book Keeper and have a passion for Accounts

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full bookkeeping function across multiple companies within the group
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records, ledgers, and journals
  • Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payments
  • Complete bank reconciliations for all group entities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated financial reports
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage VAT returns, RCT (if applicable), and statutory filings across multiple jurisdictions
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors in Ireland, the UK, and France
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Support payroll preparation and ensure correct allocation across entities
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Provide financial insights to senior management to support decision‑making

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi‑entity or international group structure/ or within a busy company
  • Strong knowledge of Irish accounting standards, VAT, and compliance
  • Fluent in French and English is a real advantage
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Surf Accounts)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with management and external partners
  • Experience preparing management accounts is a strong advantage
