Position reports to: Operations Director
Job Purpose / Definition: As Production Manager, you will have the overall responsibility for all Production operations.

Key responsibilities/duties:
· Work in close collaboration with the Operations Director and other senior members of the production team to ensure that all production targets are achieved
· Select, train and effectively communicate with production supervisors and operators as required to ensure that production objectives are achieved
· Plan, implement and monitor work schedules consistent with the needs of production requirements
· Monitor inventory levels of relevant raw materials and packaging and ensure that accurate stock takes are carried out when required
· Ensure processes involved in production are being controlled and that waste and rework is minimised and effectively dealt with
· Ensure all routine quality and HACCP checks based in production are properly conducted
· Ensure that the production operation meets the hygiene, quality and safety requirements of the company and legislation
· Work in close collaboration with the Quality Manager/Chocolatier/Development Team in improvement and problem-solving issues
· Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through best practice and development of SOPs
· Work in close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all plant is fully operational and properly maintained
· Maintain files for all production activities
· Liaise with the Operations Director, Quality Manager and Purchasing Manager in the selection and monitoring of suppliers
· Ensure factory is neat and orderly at all times.
Key Skills and Qualities:
– At least 5 years’ experience in a busy production environment required. Direct experience in chocolate production preferable.
– The candidate should have a proven track record of managing a sizeable production site
– The candidate will be passionate about quality in a technical food production environment
– Excellent organisational skills, capable of handling multiple projects, shifting priorities and handling deadline pressures
– Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
– Excellent numeracy, literacy & I.T. skills
