We have a challenging an exciting new position opening as our Operations Manager. As the Operations Manager you will encourage and develop the team, this role will focus on managing and organising all aspects of the warehouse and transport operation encompassing all tasks from when the order is placed with our sales team to when the orders are delivered to our customers. This is a customer focused business, and the ideal candidate needs to be a motivated and customer focused individual with the ability to work on their own initiative with strong leadership skills.
The Job: Logistics Manager
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity of running the Transport and warehouse operations ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the logistics team and ensuring the workflow and supervision of the team is effective and obstacles to the process are cleared.
KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
The core function and scope of the Logistics Manager is to; · Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer service in the Transport and Warehouse Team.· Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle · Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency ·Arrange and plan out warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments · Resolve any arising problems or complaints · Supervise, coach and train the team · Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets · Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements · Comply with Health and Safety · Continuously look for improvements to operations · Working proactively with various departments to realize efficiencies and manage expectations
Experience
Essential: Demonstrated Experience with; · At least 5 years of proven working experience as a logistics or Operations manager · Record of successful distribution and logistics management · Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff · Proficient in standard logistics software · Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills · Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects · Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain · Having strong communication skills to manage the internal and external stakeholder expectations · Strong leadership Skills . interpersonal and organizational skills · Good personal presentation · Ability to make Decisions under pressure · Good commercial and business understanding · Working knowledge of ERP: · Licensed to drive · Experienced in working in a multicultural environment · Familiar with Workplace Safety and Environmental factors
