This is an excellent opportunity to gain a long term role within a large food company
Reporting to NPD Manager
Salary – TBC depending on experience.
Main Duties:
The main areas of duty for this person will be managing NPD & EPD Trials, Launch Documentation
and Implementation.
This will involve:
PRODUCTION TRIALS
Work with production and quality teams to upscale kitchen recipes successfully.
Carry out and record organoleptic assessments.
Liaise with quality dept. regarding samples for micro. shelf life & nutritional assessment.
Prepare and retain comprehensive trial reports.
Organise delivery of customer samples.
PACKAGING TRIALS
Work with production, buyers and suppliers to source new packaging options and conduct
necessary trials.
Conduct transit tests when required.
EPD PROJECTS
Existing Process and Product review. Play an active role in EPD projects with wider team –
assisting with modified recipe and packaging trials for cost saving and efficiency
improvement projects.
NEW PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION
Once production recipe approved compile Launch Documentation.
Complete pre-production trials, staff training and training record sign off.
Update documentation when recipe changes occur.
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Create new product recipes in response to both customer and internal proactive briefs. This
involves tracking the full process from idea generation to ingredient sourcing and product
launch.
Work on various company based strategic projects as they arise.

NPD AREA MANAGEMENT
Manage NPD sample storage area, keep the space clean and organised, ensure expired
samples are disposed of.
SAMPLE PREPARATION
New recipes prepared as part of development process, per customer request and for
internal presentations, as required.
CUSTOMER VISITS/PRESENTATIONS
Preparation of food and ingredients for customer visits, as required.
IN – HOUSE TASTE PANELS
Organise product benchmarking exercises & Market Reviews, as required.
MARKET RESEARCH & TRENDS
This role demands strong knowledge of consumer and market trends.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in food manufacturing industry.
Food Science, Culinary Arts, Food Innovation, or similar degree.
This role could also suit candidate without above qualification but with 3+ years’ experience
in a similar role within the Food Industry.
Ability to work on own initiative and work to agreed timelines / critical paths is a must.
Passion for food is required.
Strong knowledge and use of Excel is key for this role as this is the program used for all
documentation creation & completion.
