New Product Development Chef

Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a New Product Development Chef for a large company based in D 24

As a New Product Development Chef , you will drive the development, innovation and renovation of products from concept through all stages of development in full alignment with the objectives and priorities of the company.

The candidate must be passionate about confectionary and have a good eye for detail along with a good pallet

In this role you will provide strong scientific and technical presentations and ideas and lead projects to deliver innovative nutritional products in response to business and consumer needs. 

You will also work closely with the Directors and Managing Directors of the company and be a big part of the product development team sharing ideas and getting to put your own stamp on new and upcoming products by sharing your ideas along with working with the MD

The role will include

  • Work with Product Development specialists to prepare and develop new products and/or formulations 
  • Completing Pricing and costing for project
  • Conduct testing following provided procedures
  • Document, interpret and accurately record laboratory data
  • Communicate results to colleagues and supervisor, and a final presentation to the leadership team ie MD and also Customer Presentations
  • Document and maintain accurate and complete records relating to processing product attributes 
  • Design and conduct experiments to understand product and application characteristics
  • Attend group meetings to obtain a wider perspective on the development process in the food industry
  • Build knowledge on current product formats, raw materials, manufacturing processes, packaging, test methods and applicable regulations for nutritional products 
  • Perform literature reviews on relevant topics 
  • Monitoring the online media landscape to provide key updates on competitors and industry changes

Requirements

  • University degree in Food Science/Culinary Arts / Food Technology/ Confectionary  or related scientific field and ideally an MSc or PhD or full on previous experience working in a role like this
  • Previous Pastry/ Confectionary experience advantageous
  • Basic Computer literacy, MS Office Tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and help business make risk-based decisions
  • Competence in food science based technical solutions 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland
  • A passion for food and confectionery
