Goods In Stock Control Manager
The role
A new management role created as part of the growth. You will own the goods-inwards and stock control side of our warehouse end to end, receiving, put-away and stock accuracy, working alongside the Warehouse Manager (who leads picking and despatch), Purchasing Manager, and reporting to the General Manager. Stock accuracy is the foundation the whole business runs on, and this role exists to make it excellent. You will also play a central part in implementing our new warehouse management system (WMS) and barcoding programme.
Key responsibilities
- Own goods inwards end to end: receiving, checking against purchase orders, and accurate, timely put-away
- Build and run the stock accuracy programme: perpetual inventory, cycle counting, discrepancy investigation and root-cause fixes
- Implement and enforce GRN discipline (every receipt booked correctly and promptly, in step with purchasing and accounts)
- Manage supplier returns, shortages, damages and claims
- Partner in the WMS/barcoding implementation: goods-in processes, bin locations and master data
- Lead and develop the goods-in team, including cross-training for cover
- Own goods-in KPIs: receipt-to-bin time, stock accuracy % and discrepancy resolution
- Maintain a safe, organised receiving area
What you’ll bring
- Must have 3+ years’ experience in warehouse supervision, stock control or inventory management in a distribution or wholesale environment
- A track record of improving stock accuracy, specifically counts run, discrepancies chased, accuracy achieved, systems and processes implemented
- Hands-on ERP/WMS experience; a WMS implementation on your CV is a real advantage (Pegasus Opera experience welcome but not required)
- Strong attention to detail, comfortable with Excel and data, and rigorous about process
- A working leadership style. On the floor, leading by example
- Forklift licence an advantage
Pay: €40,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
