Job Description – Financial Controller
Main Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for day-to-day financial control of the business
- Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and KPI reports
- Manage cashflow, forecasting, budgets, and variance analysis
- Produce weekly and monthly reporting packs for senior management
- Monitor costs and margins across the Transport and Container Depot divisions
- Oversee billing, invoicing, debtor control, and supplier payments
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes and liaise with external accountants/auditors
- Ensure all financial records are accurate, compliant, and up to date
- Support tender pricing, profitability analysis and commercial decision-making
- Improve financial systems, controls, and processes
- Manage payroll checks, overtime tracking, fuel usage reports and transport-related costs
- Assist with fleet investment planning, maintenance budgeting and capex forecasting
- Provide financial insight to support operational planning and business strategy
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) or strong relevant experience
- Experience in transport, logistics, manufacturing or similar industry preferred
- Strong analytical, reporting and systems skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver on deadlines
- Experience improving financial processes or introducing new controls
- Confident communicator able to work closely with senior management
Compensation & Working Hours
- Salary: €60,000 – €80,000 depending on experience (40-hour week)
- Open to 32 hours / 4-day week for suitable candidates
- On-site preferred; hybrid available after 6 months
- Based in Santry, Dublin
