Customs & Express Freight Operator

Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Customs & Express Freight Operator for a large company based in City West D24
This is a Full time Permanent role and a great chance to work in a busy environment
This role is Hybrid and Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
• ● Freight Operations:
• ○ Manage express groupage and consolidation shipments from origin to destination utilising road and airfreight movements.
• ○ Ensure efficient planning, coordination, and execution of freight movements.
• ● Customs Clearance:
• ○ Handle end-to-end customs clearance procedures, including submission of accurate documentation.
• ○ Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and facilitate prompt clearance of goods.
• ○ Operate and manage processes using the Automated Import System (AIS).
• ● Customer & Stakeholder Management:
• ○ Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional service and prompt resolution of queries.
• ○ Liaise with carriers, agents, and customs authorities to ensure seamless operations.
• ● Documentation & Compliance:
• ○ Prepare and verify all shipping and customs documentation.
• ○ Maintain up-to-date records of shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company and legal standards.
• ● Problem Solving:
• ○ Resolve operational issues proactively to minimize delays or disruptions.
• ○ Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
Key Requirements:
● Minimum 2-3 years of experience in road and air freight forwarding with a focus on express groupage/consolidation.
● Proven experience in customs clearance, including hands-on AIS operations.
● Strong understanding of customs regulations, duties, and taxes.
● Familiarity with incoterms and international freight documentation.
● Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills for managing customer relationships.
● Proficient in freight forwarding and customs software.
● Good command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
