we are looking for skilled and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee and improve The warehouse operations.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to manage and streamline all warehouse activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, exceptional organisational skills, and a focus on efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities will include:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods.
- Ensure efficient organisation and layout of the warehouse for optimal flow and space utilisation.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory control and timely replenishment.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to ensure smooth operations.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and lead the warehouse team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Allocate tasks and manage staff schedules to meet operational needs and customer demands.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse and equipment to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols by all team members.
Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, movements, and orders through the warehouse management system.
- Ensure that all documentation related to inbound and outbound shipments is completed accurately and promptly.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the warehouse and implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency and performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the hardware or building supply industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
