As our client continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Trade Sales Assistant to join the team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Sales Assistant to support the sales team and provide exceptional service to the customers. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the building and hardware supply industry and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Responsibilities will include:
Sales and Customer Service:
- Handle sales inquiries related to heavy hardware sales.
- Assist customers in selecting the right products for their needs, providing expert advice and recommendations.
- Provide high standards of customer service to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, both in person and over the phone.
Administrative Support:
- Operate the computerised stock system efficiently, including cash handling and transaction processing.
- Draft, monitor, and process quotes and orders for sales representatives on the road.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer interactions.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained and orders are fulfilled on time.
- Prepare reports on sales activities and inventory levels.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the industry, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Take a proactive approach to customer retention, understanding their needs, and providing solutions.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to network and promote the company’s products and services.
Merchandising and Store Maintenance:
- Assist with merchandising and store layout to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-organised, and stocked at all times.
- Monitor and maintain product displays to ensure they are appealing and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the building and hardware supply industry is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Proficient in using computerised systems and handling cash transactions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
