This is a full time Permanent role and a great opportunity to join a large team on site
Hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and 8.30am – 4pm Friday.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an experienced and expanding Purchasing Department
The successful candidate will undergo an 18-month training programme giving them the
opportunity to learn from our experienced team and allow them further opportunities to develop
their career.
Key responsibilities:
• Work within an experienced Purchasing department
• Raise supplier purchase orders
• Provide administrative support in maintaining purchasing / supplier files & business terms
• Ensure internal product database is accurate and up to date with PO due dates and pricing
• Work closely with Logistics Department managing urgent demands, arranging local &
international collections & deliveries, booking international transport ensuring all
shipping & freight documentation is accurate & compliant
• Procuring freight services that are cost effective, competitive and meet required deadline
• Purchase order requirement forecasts
• Achieve the organisation’s stock targets and meet customer demand
• Using companies stock management system to optimise stock
• Goods receipt processing and investigating supplier account queries
• Create stock and supplier reports
• Follow up of outstanding PO’s
• Manage urgent stock demands
• ‘Return to Vendor’ process
• Attend monthly stock meetings with management
The ideal candidate will have / be:
- ➢ A third level qualification; preferably in Purchasing or Business
- ➢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- ➢ Confident manner and excellent communications skills both verbal and written
- ➢ Team player
- ➢ Excellent organisational skills and has a good eye for detail
- ➢ A desire to learn about our products, systems and customers
- ➢ Ability to use your own initiative and make informed decisions
- ➢ Pleasant and professional telephone manner
- ➢ Excellent organisational and communication skills
- ➢ Occasional national & international travel may be required
