Impulse Recruitment are currently recruit for a L and D officer for a large company based in Galway

To Manage and coordinate the Learning and Development plan for the whole company

Coordinate the annual training plan for the estate and ensure monthly training calendar is scheduled and communicated across the company

Actively coordinate the bookings for all training and development courses throughout the company

Manage the Learning and Development Platform Flow.

Design and develop in house courses and build the module builder on the L&D Platform Flow.

Keeping the FLOW, L&D platform up to date with documents and communications.

Delivering training sessions to all employees keeping sessions relevant, interesting and interactive.

Sending out joining instructions, invitations and reminders for all training and development courses.

Carrying out Training Needs Analysis meetings in preparation for then helping devise, compile and communicate the Plan to each Department

Identify employees to develop as potential in house trainers.

Receive all pre course briefs prior to training sessions and communicate to ensure that all trainers are meeting objectives of each training candidate during said training sessions.

Undertaking all administration and contact to do with preparation, implementation and follow up within training.

Devising the Message of the Month for all hotels in an imaginative and timely manner.

Creating and delivering generic training for team members, supervisors and managers.

Creating and updating specific training documents.

Preparing for and delivering Red Carnation Training Courses.

Compiling the Training Report on a monthly basis.

Abiding and assisting with all company green initiatives at all times and communicating with Training Manager on any aspects.

Chairing the Specific Skills Trainers meetings at the assigned properties, writing the minutes and chasing the focus sheets, observing SSTs on at least a yearly basis as well as helping organise SST events, and helping to select the SST of the Year award including runners up. Managing the SST of the Quarter recognition.

Coaching Management Programme Participants as required.

Helping organise and attend the staff social events on a regular basis and sitting on the Staff Appreciation Party Committee.

Booking and co-ordinating external training suppliers for the specialised training such as Health and Safety and First Aid.

Delivering Manual Handling Training to all employees

Maintaining and tracking no-shows and attendance on training programmes and sessions.

Working with the HOD’s and P&C Manager to organise succession plans for key positions.

Design and Implement IDP and Succession Plans for each department and property.

Seeking cost effective external training courses.

Researching and staying up to date with industry trends and gathering up to date information for training sessions.

Regularly auditing statutory training and departmental inductions at the assigned properties.

Coming up with continuous creative ideas and suggestions to further improve our company Training operations.

Liaising with People and Culture Manager to deal with important issues in training and development.

Occasional Duties/Responsibilities

To be flexible in your role and have an adaptable and positive approach to changes and continuous improvements being implemented with the business

To carry out any other reasonable requests made by Senior Management that is related to your role as a manager

To support/help out your colleagues in other departments/locations of the company if required

To attend meetings/training courses as required

Health and Safety
To maintain awareness of all Health and Safety requirements, as outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
To ensure awareness of the Hotel’s fire procedures and the use of fire lighting equipment.
To understand and follow the Hotel’s Fire and Bomb evacuation procedures.
To remain constantly vigilant and aware of security, reporting any suspicious event or person

  1. To carry out any other reasonable request made by Management.
  2. Due to the changing needs of the business, you may be required to work in other departments or hotels within the company on a temporary basis.
  3. To attend meetings and document key information and decisions as required.
