Assistant Logistics Manager

Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Logistics Manager for a large company based in Cavan

This is a Full Time Permanent role and a great opportunity to join a large company

The Assistant Logistics Manager will work within the Logistics team to help meet and exceed all required Health, Safety and Operational requirements. 

You will support the Logistics Manager in achieving high levels of operational efficiency and customer service.

You will be part of the team deploying World Class Manufacturing tools, engaging with the Supply Chain team to achieve full team participation and continuous improvement.

The role is intended to supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations within the Logistics Department.

Duties will include

  • Assist in ensuring all personnel within the Logistics team operate to the highest standards of EHS and that all EHS rules, policies and procedures are strictly followed.
  • Manage the site yard to ensure trucks are unloaded/loaded safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all customer orders are delivered according to customer charter and promise.
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team providing daily updates on all relevant Logistics Dept activities.
  • Ensure all non-conformance logistics and delivery issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Produce monthly KPI reports.
  • Supervise Transport coordinators and Logistics Admin.
  • Key customer service point of contact for all logistics and customer delivery issues including POD & credit note queries.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of quantity & damage failures, including error investigation and analysis.
  • Participate in WCM activities, participating in pillar activity in line with Supply Chain objectives including improvement projects.
  • Work with the Logistics Manager to drive process improvements across all aspects of Logistics operations.
  • Manage the T&A system for the team and co-ordinate weekly and monthly payroll
  • In conjunction with the Logistics Manager, manage the Training matrix for the team ensuring all compliance training is completed on time.
  • Ensure cohesive employee relations on site
  • Support the Logistics manager with the intake of Supply to site
  • Support the employee wellbeing within the team.
  • Create and open and engaging culture. Lead the development of the team, encourage and develop a high performing customer focused team through regular reviews and feedback sessions. 
  • Support the implementation of group and site standards within the Logistics team.
  • Provide holiday cover within the Logistics department as required.

  • Supply Chain qualification desirable but not essential
  • MS Office
  • SAP knowledge desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role in Logistics and Supply Chain Operations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
